Ash & Quarry is a small UK craft brand selling Jesmonite products — pigments, moulds, kits, and accessories. The client needed a full e-commerce site that felt premium and editorial while still being warm and approachable for beginner crafters.
They had a product range ready and a brand name, but nothing else. No design, no copy, no photography direction. I was brought in to handle everything from scratch on Hostinger.
A full multi-page Hostinger e-commerce site with 6 content pages plus an integrated shop. The design uses a warm off-white palette with terracotta accents to reflect the handmade, earthy nature of the products.
The most technically interesting part of this project was building a custom Jesmonite mixing calculator — a tool that lets crafters input their mould volume and automatically calculates the correct ratios of resin, hardener, and pigment.
This was built as a standalone interactive tool in custom JavaScript, embedded within the Hostinger site. It's been one of the most used pages on the site since launch and has driven significant organic traffic from crafters searching for mixing guides.
I wrote all copy from scratch — product descriptions, homepage narrative, about page, and the guides section. The tone needed to balance aspirational (for people wanting to create beautiful objects) with practical (for beginners who needed clear instructions).
Delivered in 14 days. The client launched to an existing Instagram following and converted social traffic to shop sales from day one. The mixing calculator became a standalone traffic driver, bringing in new visitors who discovered the brand through search.
